Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengetahuan awal dalam menyelesaikan masalah aritmatika dan mendeskripsikan pengenalan siswa aritmatika. Metode yang digunakan penelitian adalah metode campuran. Sebanyak 63 MTsN Batu Malang terlibat ini. Subyek 2 siswa. Kedua dipilih berdasarkan kemampuan mereka memberikan jawaban tertulis lisan. Instrumen pengumpulan data tes diagnostik pemecahan aritmatika.Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mempengaruhi memecahkan siswa, diperlukan aritmatika, namun rendahnya nilai disebabkan oleh kurangnya
